The Megawatt Hour- Energy Management – Energy Information

Energy information is hard to access. Once you get to it, the data can be confusing. And in some instances, the market participants like it that way. We have spent thousands of person hours and lots of resources making sure that our information is straight forward and makes sense to energy and finance professionals.

Transparency = better business outcomes. Why? Imagine trying to buy a car without knowing what the list price was? What if you tried to buy a house but there was no way to see other houses in the neighborhood? No way to know what other houses cost? Try buying an airline ticket without comparing across carriers? You wouldn’t do it, would you? If you wouldn’t give up transparency for a $400 plane ticket, don’t relinquish your right to know how you’re doing on your multi-million dollar energy budget.

Energy is complex.. and is only growing in complexity. So just as the energy industry gets more complex, information is more difficult to access. Should I invest in solar panels? What is distributed energy? What will I be paying in 3 years? What is the cost/benefit of different options? We have focused on data and information so that you can make those decisions in an informed and forward-looking way. No more guessing.

You can't manage what you can't measure.
For too long, the best clients could do was look at invoices in spreadsheets or PDFs. No longer.

It works. We find lower cost, more efficiency, better choices… every single time a new customer joins The Megawatt Hour. The lack of transparency that most customers labor under has resulted in a higher cost somewhere. It varies from customer to customer, but without fail there is an opportunity to save time and money once we let our software do its work.

It feels good to help you look good. Call us crazy, but we like it when our customers say “Thank you!” or “This is great” or “I wish I had this much control over all my other expenses!” We believe in doing gratifying work that helps people.

No one else is. There is no one else out there who has the experience or the commitment to bring complete transparency to energy markets on behalf of clients. Other players may be interested in helping you procure electricity or gas, they may be interested in providing consulting services to your organization. Most consultants and brokers stop short of evaluating how you’re doing compared to any objective measure. The industry was built on confusion and obfuscation. With few exceptions, most suppliers, brokers and consultants don’t want you to see what you’re paying compared to a benchmark. That makes no sense. You shouldn’t stand for that. Insist that your consultant or adviser provides complete insights into costs.

Because we are the market leader in vendor neutral transparent energy information. Transparency is our business.
